Hi,

I'm on Sequoia 15.7.7 and trying to add a share-only account to the SMB File Sharing dialog (where it warns the password is stored "less securely"), but it is glitching out and not showing the user. It will either only show regular users and admin, or duplicate all the users/admin, but not show any of the sharing-only accounts.

The consequence is they can't be added to the SMB list, and shares don't work from Windows with those users.

I'm looking to see if this can be achieved via the terminal as a work-around, but the GUI appears to be busted for share-only accounts.

I added it via Terminal and even rebooted just in case, but it is still not working, and the account does not appear in the list.

It seems, for now, share-only accounts can't use SMB file sharing.

The only work-around I can find for now is to use a regular user account.
