Since day 1 I have been using keychain on IOS for all my website passwords and it works great for me.
However i would like to share the same database with another Apple ID on our family subscription.

What is the easiest way to do this? I presume this will be a 3rd party app but i would like to retain safari auto fill if possible?
I don’t mind re-entering all passwords but want a central store so we can have random passwords on each site and both see what they are if necessary

thanks for any suggestions

I don’t think this can be done with the stock iCloud Keychain, but someone correct me if I’m wrong here. I’d potentially look at 1Password and share the vaults with the family.

I use Bitwarden. You can pick and choose passwords to share. For the free version you'd setup a group folder you all put shared passwords in. You need to set it as a password manager in Settings for fill prompts.

Works with all major web browsers, iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux.

Settings up the shared group is a bit awkward. As it's through the web interface and needs to be enabled on all users. Once it's setup sharing is easy.

You can also store cards, ID info, forms and notes in Bitwarden.

If one company has multiple sites which all require the same login. You can identify them under one set of saved credentials. Rather than separate entries for every domain.

It also supports authenticator functions in the paid version and more complex group password sharing scenarios. But I haven't looked much into either function.

Edit: Apple doesn't support exporting keychain. There's third party scrips which automate this to create a CSV file. Which may then be imported into Bitwarden or a lot of other password managers. I expect it's a bit messy and will require fixing some form fields. After you import it.

I want to change the password on multiple websites to make them more secure
Every website is different. The password manager would have to know how to change passwords on every different website. Plus deal with other obstacles some websites will put up like Captcha, 2FA, Security Questions, &c. Not to mention the wide range of password rules websites have. Websites also change layout. They aren't even smart enough to reliably bring up a login page or autofill the password on all sites.

That being said some password managers claim to offer the function. Such as the Lastpass Premium. In my experience it doesn't work well. When I was a Lastpass user. I did try the password changer on all my sites. It worked for some sites. Most of the time it would get hung up part way through. Sometimes it would get through the process but the new password wouldn't work. As it may have used a 20 digit password while the site only accepts 16 digits and simply ignored the last 4 digits entered. At any rate, it still had to be done site by site.

This would be a great feature. But there'd have to be some regulation standardizing password requirements, login methods and password changing methods for all websites. For this to be practical. Maybe AI algorithms will eventually be smart enough to figure it out. But they aren't yet. At least, not that I'm aware of.

I'd just look at password managers for reliably remembering login details, cross platform sync, password generator, storage of various other pertinent site notes and other form fill. Look at how easy it is to use manually. Then how well autofill works. Other automated tasks are generally too unreliable to be more than gimmick.
