Thanks for the kind remarks :)

im hard on myself as a drive to improve, and there are tons of artists where I'm like "how the heck can anyone get that good?!"

I will say just in the week I've had the iPad I think I've made some progress in a hobby I hadn't done much with for some time. Nothing helps quite like doing, and the iPad is a great facilitator and motivator!

I can relate with music, even if I finish a song, it's never good enough and I have to push myself to do better. I've been debating on an iPad to fulfill my want to draw and you may have convinced me to get one sooner rather than later. :D

So, you create music too? :)
I just created(correctly, "re-created") my soundcloud account for my originals, do you have any of your music there?
Currently I'm into creating classical kind of music, but do also house remix :)

Yeah, I mostly make Trance, Progressive Trance and House, and downtempo stuff but a lot of my newer productions aren't up there. Yoshi was a big hit among my friends when I first made it. But feel free to PM me about this, let's keep this thread focused on the Art ;)

My latest project, a work in progress - inspired by a building around the corner from where I live. Thought it would make a good subject to attempt a detailed drawing but it's damn fiddly! Would like to put colour on when I'm done but not quite sure how yet.

Have been trying to draw every day to keep motivated - even if just for 10 minutes. The iPad definitely helps motivate!

The first thing drawn on my 9.7": a grocery list in Notepad for the missus in my chicken scratch, haha.

I do plan to do more, er... elaborate... sketches in the near future. I just haven't used it much since I'm still waiting for my leather Smart Cover from China, and don't want it to get all scratched up in a fervor of usage beforehand.

The design stuff I normally do is vector and very precise, like drafting and logo work. My biggest shortfall is letting loose during the concept phase and freely sketching ideas. I'm hoping the new iPad will let me get more comfortable with the brainstorming/sketching phase.

Aaah I can't wait to get my iPad Pro 9.7 this summer and draw with it non-stop! There's so many awesome artists/hobbyists here! I currently draw with my Note Edge, but you think how hard it can be I want to push my limits with Pencil. I want the 12.9 so badly but I want to get a laptop later as well. Meanwhile I'll be lurking here viewing all this good art ^^

I got 12.9" when it first time released, with the doubt which if I liked that size. My main use of Pro is for drawing(obviously) and also for creating music. Once I start using 12.9", I just loved this size, it's comfortable to work on for drawing, photos, and creating music. And also split view works very well when I want to see a picture aside when I'm drawing details.
So, if you're getting Pro mainly for drawing, since 9.7" is anyway still big as a mobile, I recommend you to get 12.9" Pro instead. 9.7" has different kind of display mode, but when you're working on pictures/photos, you don't want your display manipulated by the level of the lights you are surrounded by at that moment, want consistent colors instead. When 9.7" Pro came out I went to Apple Store and played with it, and decided to stay with 12.9". If iPad mini will be upgraded with Apple Pencil support, I'll buy it without any hesitation at all.
For me, 9.7" is bit too big as a mobile(for that I prefer iPad mini), little bit too small to work for drawings for me.

It's just me possibly, but since it looks like both price 12.9" and 9.7" very close lately, this is something I want to let you know. 12.9" Pro not 100% replace your work on laptop/desktop, but it's' all depends what you're using for your laptop/desktop. In my case, now I mainly use 12.9" Pro for drawing/making music, my laptop is sitting at home always and I just use it for emails, and storage, uploading something big files or else, I can say iPad Pro 12.9" can replace my laptop almost, like 95%.

This is pretty much the way it is for me, too. Except I use my iPad for emails too. So my iMac is just for storage and dealing with large file uploads/downloads. And also for editing epubs and converting video files.

Theoretically, the 9.7 can do everything the 12.9 can do, but it's so much more comfortable doing them on 12.9. I think anyone who wants to have an iPad to do creative / productivity tasks should consider the 12.9, even if you think the size is too big. Because many people who initially thought 12.9 was too big love it after actually using one.

Wow that detail, I love it!

I wanna get the 12.9 because I played with it at Apple Store and the size was just great to be able to draw with ease. I just calculated the sizes of apps that I will download to my device (yes that is so nerdy) and it just got to 15gb, 4 of it being music. I use cloud and stream videos, and I want to get the bigger Pro but don't wanna spend too much, I will most likely get the 32GB model. I found some great discounts too. Since I'll buy it at the end of June, there would be better discounts I believe. Deciding on 32GB allowed me to go for the 12.9 inch model. Also I realized that I'm not like the people that sketches/paints outside , like in a café or a park. Bigger is better for me in this case. I just want to freely draw without the tech limiting me. Thanks for your suggestion ^^

Also, I want to make music with iPad Pro too, EDM style. What apps do you use? And does it require additional tech like a MIDI keyboard or something?

I carry my 12.9" Pro everywhere when I know I'm working on drawings/making music, or have mini :)

For music, I was into making remix of house/disco music for last few years, now went back to classical-ish piano music. My soundcloud account which had all dance music remix was unfortunately no longer exists because of those "copyrights" issue from originals I created remix, but recently I created new account just for my piano music, if you're interested those kind as well.

For making music, I use Notion, Grageband(on my MacbookPro).

I'm looking forward to see your drawings here!

Thanks! I don't like classic piano that much, but I have a friend who loves them. I'll share your work with him ^^

I'll draw something and post here as soon as I get my Pro. But for now, gotta study to get in a college. Just 2 months left, then ı'll unleash my creativity I kept inside for so long :D

I think sketching outside could be doable, too. The 12.9 is about the size of this sketch pad. Sure, it's heavier than a sketch pad, but I think you could still draw in this position.

I forgot to mention, I was going to say that 12.9 Pro is still relatively light even having that big of a screen. I'm just not like that person. But well, I could give it a try when I get it.

I came from an iPad 3, and my weak arms couldn't even handle that weight, haha. I'm happy with the 9.7, but I can see the benefits of the 12.9 for many.

I'm so looking forward to posting in here and i really enjoy looking at other peoples' work. It's always inspirational!

I've done loads of art with non-Apple Pencil styluses and it's often been a bit of a headache in various ways to produce (no good Palm rejection, weird nibs, etc!), so I'm looking forward to the more polished equivelent with the Apple Pencil. :) will start posting in a few days, yay!

Before I had to carry my sketchbook plus art supplies to cafe/outside/liblary or where I was going to. It's not only heavy but also I have to decide what kind of media I want to use for drawing before I go out. I love water color, I love pastels, I love watersolible pencils, and bringing all I need was just painful.
Compare with those weight, carrying iPad Pro 12.9" and Apple Pencil is almost nothing! LOL
I live in San Francisco, our weather here is too lovely to stay home and draw, I get more nature around, good coffee and funny people if I go out :)

Also I sometimes am too warnout due to busy work and don't feel like being creative, then bring my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, go to one of near by cafes. Changing environment sometimes changes my mood and vitality, and I end up drawing at cafe like straight 3 hours :)

Oh and thanks to people here to keep me being creative and inspired even my work has been killing me! ;)
