3 macs, one wireless network

anyway to set up a folder we can all see and edit thats stored on the mac pro?

Yep. Its pretty easy. On you Mac Pro Create a folder that you want to be shared. Go to Preferances -> Sharing -> Personal File Sharing. Click the checkbox, and it should turn on personal file sharing.

Now, go back to the folder you have created, select it, and fo to file -> get info. (or apple+I) There should be a little arrow at the bottom next to details. Click that, and you should see a drop down menu next to "others." Select "Read and Write", apply, and you are done!


Now, on the macs you want to connect with, go to the "go" menu in the finder, and click Network. (or shift+apple+K) Find your Mac Pro on the network, log in to the computer, select the folder, and hit connect. Bam! it shows up on your desktop :)

The Public folder in your Home directory is viewable by all, even guests, on the network without having to set up anything other than turning file sharing on.


Or, you can do that :)

But can others write to it? I got the feeling thats what the OP was looking for.
