Shared Photostreams wipe EXIF?

I had to recover a couple of shared photos back out of one of my Shared Photostreams, it has current date, rather than date taken.

Screwing up my photo albums. Lost details about Camera, exposure, etc.

Intended behavior? Why would they wipe this.
