I have a printer connected to an iMac via USB cable, and the iMac is connected to an AirPort Extreme Base Station. I shared the printer on the iMac, and have been able to successfully print to it from my MacBook. However, each time I shut the MacBook down or put the MacBook to sleep, the iMac shared printer goes away, and I need to reinstall it. How do I keep this from continuing to happen -- in other words, how can I get this shared printer/print que to stay installed permanently, until I delete it??

thanks!
Mark

How I solved this problem when I got it...

Whilst you are using an Airport Extreme, I was using a Time Capsule (v7.3.1), but exactly the same problem. Eventually all I did was restart the Time Capsule (to which this machine was attached wirelessly) and the problem was resolved. Another machine in the house was attached (wirelessly) to an Airport Express which was an extension of the Time Capsule network. That machine always worked - so the problem only occurred when a machine was connected via the Time Capsule. Who knows why.... Who cares? It fixed it...
