Is it possible to share music libraries (not Apple Music) from a 'modern' Mac to a Mac running iTunes on Tiger? I can see in iTunes preferences in Tiger that there is a sharing tab with the ability to both share and look for shared libraries, but there is no corresponding tab in Apple Music in Monterey. I tried turning on Home Sharing under Media in Preferences, but then I cannot log into Home Sharing on Tiger using my iCloud account as it's no longer supported.

Not really. The best you can do is designate one spot on your network to be the 'master' library and then point all iTunes using devices to that spot on your network.

For me, that's a folder on my NAS. I have all iTunes apps set to NOT organize the folder or copy the music to their local drives. The only downside to this is that whenever you have new music to add you have to add it manually to each Mac/PC sharing that same folder.

there
Even Mountain Lion and windows 10 iTunes has sharing issues with Mojave itouch g4 and an  TV gen 3
all these sync'd well just last year,.
the reason is due to iCloud does not support anything past 2015ish (el cap).
which is sad that  products simply just don't work anymore.

what another fine mess 'ya got us into, tim laruel-hardy!

Why not use one Mac to add and organize though?

That'd be fine if sharing of the iTunes library worked between Tiger and Monterey, the subject of this thread.

You can use one Mac to organize and add, but if you aren't sharing or can't then none of that is going to happen on all he other Macs/PCs.

This is on of the reasons I prefer Nightingale/Songbird. It keeps track of the central music folder and updates automatically whenever you add music. And this happens on all computers running the app.

I don't think this changed from Big Sur.

If you have your library shared from Tiger you should be able to access from the Music app. It will be in the dropdown Library menu (which doesn't look like a button) in the sidebar.

As Apple significantly changed DAAP you have to go in this direction or use something like owntone because Tiger will not be able to use shares from anything remotely new (although it should still see them on Bonjour).
