I recently purchased a new wireless router (Linksys E3000) with a USB port for enabling a shared network drive. The drive was previously connected to my PC directly, so it is formatted for PC, but my G4 can see it and access it and I've successfully moved some JPGs to it that I can view on my PC.

However, I also moved two archive folders (.zip) to it but they won't extract on my PC - I get "file invalid" errors, and in one case an 'access denied' error.

Any ideas how I can make these zips accessible to my PC? One of them is my iTunes folder which I'm trying to move from my G4 to my PC.

Thanks.

the best way is to setup file sharing between the two. so ensure that both computers have IP addresses from the router.

in OSX do this
system prefs->sharing->(tick)file sharing->options->(tick)"share files using SMB"->(tick) your user name.

from there you go to the PC, and connect to a "networked drive" through My Computer.

then map to

\\ipaddressofmac\username

e.g. for me its
\\10.0.1.35\dofot9

credentials will be username + password from your mac.

then you can copy files directly to your mac
