sharing files between macs

How can I share files between two macs that a) run mavericks and b) are wirelessly connected?

Dropbox? Google docs? Office 365? iCloud?

The files in question are over 800 MBs. How can I share them straight over the server, rather than through dropbox or similar?

Do you want to transfer the files from one Mac to the other, or be able to view/edit on both? If you just want to transfer, you could try a thunderbolt cable and put one Mac in target mode.

I was hoping to use the sharing folder option, but for some reason the public folder won't connect.
