sharing turned on by default?

    Are Screen and File Sharing turned on by default in High Sierra?

    No. But if enabled prior to upgrade, yes.

    If you install HS on a blank disk, or buy a new Mac, Screen and File sharing will be off.

    If you are upgrading from prior release and had sharing enabled, the settings will remain enabled.
