Love my new phone but is anyone else’s sharper around the edges where the glass meets the edge?

This is def rougher than my XS max.

I got my 11 pro today and it is sharper around the edges on the front than my X for sure and to the point where I am worried if it is a defect. It sort of feels like the front glass is lower than it should be. It is sharp when moving the finger from the front glass to the side. Now that I noticed it my X has the same feeling but so slight that I have never noticed it.

Searching these forums this issue was around on both the XS and the X where most users seems to have swapped their phones for this issue. I will decide tomorrow if I am bothered enough to call Apple.

Yes they said no issue they showed me others

Steel band on mine feels rough/sharp around front glass where it meets plastic gasket.

If you use your phone with a case, then the sharp edges won't mean a thing. I had similar issues with previous iPhones, and once I put it in a case, I completely forgot about it. Only when I took the case off when selling the phone was when I remembered about the edges.

yes, mine is, and it even gave me a paper cut before i realized how sharp it is! my XS max is totally fine. going to take this to the store and see if the others on display are sharp.

my case doesn’t cover the bottom near lightning port so i constantly notice it. maybe i can file it down a bit?

My Pro model thankfully has no sharp edges, if in doubt take it into an Apple store and compare it to the ones on display.

Hopefully it’s not the start of sharpgate...

So I spent £1300 on a phone with some questionable quality control and I've got to buy a case on top to solve the issue? Personally I don't use cases but if it works for you. I'm returning anyway as I'm also experiencing PWM issues.

It's not a "Gate". Ever since the 8 series started using the steel band glass sandwich design this has been an issue on some units.

more than 50 percent in the store have the same issue..

tech 21 cases cover the bottom part

The XS/Max also presented ‘sharp edges’ last year where the casing would meet the glass. I believe there was a fairly large thread on this, some edges were rather drastic in terms where some members claimed it could ‘cut’ them and other times it was rather minimal. It’s Just a manufacturing tendency.

i'm going to get a tech 21 case and see if that is good enough for me. i never take my case off.

i will, however, go to the apple store and check out the display models and talk to them there and see what they think.

my iphone XS Max doesn't have this issue.
