Every revision of the iPhone arrives with the following changes:

LED, Battery, Sensors, Gyros, Cameras, CPU/GPGPU SoC, antennae, speakers and more advanced touch multilayered panels.

Wow, an updated camera and fingerprint sensor. Apple is really reaching for the future (yawn).

Actually, if implemented correctly a fingerprint sensor alone is a substantial improvement that is actually practical--which is more than I can say for many of the gimmicky features that Samsung has been releasing.

The hardware will remain untouched, but the software will be the real breadwinner here.

What? It's not going to let me wave my hand over it like an idiot to make it do an extremely limited range of things...

The funny thing is if that Apple incorporated that into the iPhone instead of Samsung, ya'll would be raving how awesome it is. "It's only great if Apple does it" seems be the motto around here.

Samedung trolls are so easy to find!

So are Apple's. ;) In fact, if you look closely, you'll see a few in this thread. Shhh don't mention "Google" or "Samsung" that gets them mad.

Is that the best you got? Yawn. Unoriginal Apple is unoriginal.

2/10

Fixed that for you!

That's how non Apple loyalist see iOS and the iPhone.

No, I'm basing it off of watching a friend with an S4 getting more and more frustrated trying to use his. I'm not an Apple loyalist at all. I use the technology I want and need.

To me, the waving of a hand frantically above a phone to try and get it to do something is on par with the Apple equivalent of "you are holding it wrong" from a few years ago. ;)

The wife is super excited for this. She's been hobbling along on my ancient Android cos she had her iPhone stolen and now she's chomping at the bit for me to upgrade to the 5S so that she can get my 5.

Nicholas Allegra

I wonder how long it will take for this fingerprint technology to get hacked :D

About 5 minutes after Google supplies Nicholas Allegra, a.k.a. Comex with the phone.

Or... if with every fingerprint tech that has been done you'll need a backup and then just a birthday and Apple Log In Name and Apple will send the hacker your password.

iOS 7 better be more than "Flat" and a 2011 (already done by Motorola) fingerprint scanner or Apple's YoY revenue will drop again.

I'm yawning too. This "S" series phones are pathetic.

The "S" series phones are always better than the previous generation. Apple fixes all of the hardware issues with the S version.

Your wife's Android doesn't have a name/vendor/year/?

You should have purchased insurance for the phone if you wanted protection.

Now your wife is getting used by and Android...

Considering they can upgrade all of those things, AND make it smaller/thinner, AND keep the battery life the same? I'd say that's pretty damn impressive and consistent.

If there has ever been anything "wrong" with the iPhone updates, it's iOS (or its lack of new features/looks). But we already know that's being vastly overhauled (finally) by Mr. Ives.

All in all, I'd say Apple is very much top of their game when it comes to iPhone updates.

4.5" 1080p screen, NFC, front-facing stereo speakers.

I'm getting this on day one.

Nope. I'm a beloved Apple user... When will Apple support Flash? When will Apple update iWeb? When will Apple make another 17" MacBook Pro? What happened to Apple's stock price? ... and yet, an updated camera on the iPhone. Now that is news.
