Because the only way to call Shazam is by smashing the two apps together and shouting SHAZAM.

(If you know the cartoon you’ll know this)
If the rumored Apple Ring ever comes out, can family members get Wonder Twin powers? Or do we all just get Green Lantern ones?

Uninstall the app and you will see that it is not needed. Same interface, same history, as it is now integrated, the only difference being a link to download the app at the bottom if you want more features, which are practically non-existent.
do they still have ads in the app? They used to in the Android version. Became useless to me as soon as Google added a Song Search widget. (For a while Soundhound had better recommendations, I think? But then they pivoted to paid beta personal assistant or something)

edit: never mind about the ads, someone above says they're ad free now.

I’ve found Shazam to be highly inaccurate. Mostly useless and I don’t understand why they are so bad.

I’ve found it surprisingly accurate about 90% of the time considering some of the obscure stuff I throw at it.

You can see the song history by long pressing the Control Center Music Recognition icon.

There is the old and depreciated Shazam app, which you can and should uninstall now, and the Music Recognition app.

The unused Shazam app on the Watch belongs to the Shazam app on the iPhone, so do I need to delete that one too? This is such a ridiculous situation.

You can just uninstall it from the watch by using the Watch app on the phone.

There is also an option in the Watch app settings so that the watch doesn’t automatically install newly downloaded apps from the phone to the watch. You can then find the available to install apps in the below section of the Watch app.
