?This take is low quality.

While what is said is technically correct, it overlooks the fact that – as clearly described by @videosoul – Shazam is overthinking the process and making song ID & logging more complex than it needs to be.

What's the logic in songs not appearing on the 'My Music' list after invoking the Shazam ability from Control Centre?
Yes, this has bugged me since its intro to CC.

Having two histories (one in CC, that's entirely separate from the one in the app), is a ridiculously bad UX. I never use the CC one accordingly, unfortunately. ?

Things like this really make me wonder about the staffing hierarchy at big tech companies. I just struggle to understand how things as daft as this ever make it off the shop floor. Even in the earliest stages of development, surely someone stopped and thought “why are we doing this”?!

I think it's somehow likely a technical limitation. Perhaps linking the history into the app is not possible right now.
But still, from a user perspective, it makes no sense.

You may be right. Possibly updating old code and adding features back later. When you log into Shazam.com you see this message now: Soon, you won't be able to access My Library on Shazam.com. Please go to the Shazam app to view your Shazam history.
It would be nice have have some clarification. Shazam is a mess right now.

You and I survived the days of burning data finding songs back then ?? those 50 dollar charges back then were something else, now we take it for granted lolol

I always use the app, it keeps it in track with my Shazam music list and then it gets added to Apple Music automatically, I love it
Burning data and data overcharges? Maybe back in the early AOL days when you only had X hours a month included and then paid extra per hour but when the iPhone was released in 2007, the only plans included unlimited data. I've even got an iPhone still on that old AT&T plan.
