I was typing yesterday on my black MacBook and as I pressed the left shift key it just popped out clean (I have attached a photo below to show you what I mean). The computer is under warranty so I intend to have it repaired. Based on the advice from this page I am going to take it to my local apple store tomorrow. I just have a couple of questions:

a) Is taking it into an Apple Store the best course of action? I ordered it online as I picked some BTO options, but I don't want to send it away.
b) Has this happened to anyone else before- is it a common problem?
c) If so, how long has it taken to fix (I don't want to be without my MacBook for an extended period).

It's a real shame because apart from that I have had a great time using the computer and think they are excellent machines.

On all the previous versions of ibooks it was very simple to reattach the key. its a simple scissor mechanisms. If the connection didn't break it should be simple to push back on. If this doesn't work and an Apple store is close by thats the best way for it to get fixed.
