I hear everyone who’s complaining about Apple throwing their weight around and that CBP shouldn’t be doing this BUT the facts are, these counterfeits/knockoffs wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for Apple putting in millions in research and development and thus Apple does earn the right to stop knockoffs/counterfeits and the ONLY place to stop these are, imagine this, AT THE BORDER!! If CBP didn’t do their jobs, you mother, father, friends and even yourself would be taking FAKE medications from China! Let me digress, what was the main design before Apple, yeah those stupid only round ear buds that hurt your ears or fell out all the time…. Apple created a whole new experience and why should others be allowed to benefit from THIER hard work!? Now let’s step over to small companies, who isn’t Apple, how do they protect their IP, if it wasn’t for CBP?!??

Those commentators stating, it’s not CBP job are most likely Pro-China paid commenters (YES THEY ACTUALLY EXIST!) Yet, in China, the game played is in reverse!! Chinese nationals will register US trademarks and take it to their CBP, who will stops the products from leaving, the Chinese National than contacts the US company and blackmails them into a huge single fee or a yearly fee! Many people think, registering in the US is good worldwide but it’s not, each country is required. If you don’t believe me, search “Supreme Samsung China counterfeit” https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/201...partners-with-counterfeit-version-of-supreme/

As for the value of the goods declaimed, you declaim what Apple would have lost, NOT the “street value”, thus $7mm figure.

I could go on and on and on, but China is embracing counterfeits and knockoffs, but than get really pissed when their own internal development get copied… generally the cultural experiences are it’s good to be knocked off but than again, the same culture can’t drink water from their own taps and even wine and liquors can be fake and make you very sick. ( https://3dag.ch/behind-the-scenes-of-counterfeiting-counterfeit-alcohol/ )

So this IS A WIN for the US consumer, small and medium US companies. As for Apple, it’s not even a blip on their radar! Their busy dealing with Amazon sponsored counterfeits/knockoffs, which are to the tune of $30-60MM!!

Wow if that picture is of the ones they really seized it seems like a stretch. The ones Walmart sells every day look more like AirPods than those, at least they are white (unless my monitor color is way off the ones in the picture attached to this story look grey).

Like the others mentioned though, do a google search for "Facebook Marketplace Airpods" and look at all the results. Those things can look exactly like Apple's AirPods including the packaging. Lots of times they will have serial numbers that check out fine with Apples look up tool and everything. Many people are only able to spot the difference after they get them and can feel the difference in build quality. Or I guess many of them will be unable to do a firmware update, or turn noise cancellation on and off and tell a difference, stuff like that.

Don't know why call fake airpods. This earphone looks like another brand "Elite pods."
