UPS is making me nervous. They haven’t updated my delivery preference to “hold for pickup” yet. The address they have for shipping is still incorrect. I’m hoping that happens tomorrow in Louisville.

It's been a while since I've done a hold for pickup, but I'm pretty sure it didn't change to hold for pickup until it was at the destination facility. You might not see it till Friday morning.

I can on ups.com and can see the last 4 digits of the tracking number. But when I call UPS and ask them to do the same they say they can't and for some reason insist that they have to have the tracking number only 🙁

No idea on time. It can happen anytime tomorrow. From my experience import scan did came around the morning.

reference number is going to be your phone number which you used while placing an order!

I got my order in at 8:00am eastern plus a few seconds and still no tracking by phone or order#. Basic 128gig black pro Max. Still in PTS. Harumph!

For those in Australia and ordered through the Apple Store app, as previously mentioned, it looks like the HESZ tracking number in the Australia Post app is the phone if it's going to get release day delivery. My order updated in the last hour to bump delivery to tomorrow via StarTrack.

And now the Apple store app has updated with tomorrow's delivery... getting excited!

As others have noted, I believe Apple changed customs/import to WorldPort from Anchorage. For those trying to do changes, nothing can happen until this step is complete. Which (for mine) it now is.
