Quick question. If I pre-order on Apple.com and I am using my carrier upgrade. Can the phone be shipped to any address or does it have to go to the billing address? I am never home and would love to ship it to either my job or my mothers house.

I work literally on top of the Grand Central Apple Store but I don't want to set my phone up in the Apple store. I would love to just grab and go.

It's tricky to change your shipping address same day. I wouldn't recommend.

You do have to sign up for a specific pick up time, but you can just get your phone and leave. No requirement to set up in store.

When entering your carrier info, the shipping info will be pulled from your carrier account. So you will need to update that first and then order the phone. I do not think that Apple.com will allow you to change it, I’m not certain as I always choose in store pick up.

Huh? Surely you can have it ship to your house. So many people are on family plans and don't all live at the same address.

If you choose to go with the carrier model on apple.com and you enter your carrier account info, the billing/shipping address is pulled from your carrier account, you can't enter a different shipping address on apple.com. I think you may be able to do so by calling apple and see if they can change that but at check out you can't.

Surely some would want to have it delivered to their work office. So doing it set to home may not be feasible and maybe no one would be home by the time Fedex/UPS delivers it.

I talked to someone on apple live chat yesterday and they said I shouldn't have a issue with a different shipping address. Even asked if it could be a different state.

Well I just did a test on the iPhone 8 and when I entered my carrier info and did the Verizon payment plan, it automatically choose the address on my Verizon account file, no way to change it. So I can confirm that you cannot change the shipping address at check out if you are doing the carrier financing.

However, if you plan to purchase outright, then yes you can enter a shipping address you'd like to be delivered.

Yea I guess it depends but from what I understand T-mobile is fine. It's the AT&T/Verizon (I can't speak for Sprint) that if you do the device payment plan through them and order via Apple.com you can't choose shipping address of your choice. Only way to do this is change it on your carrier account, which can be a hassle if all your family is needing to order but needs to go to different address. lol
