Yeah one of mine went back and the other didnt. Im calling apple, getting fed up with this. Ordered on the 19th from them and still dont even know when they will ship, could have ordered from ATT on the 29th and likely be using the phone.
Mine has been prepared for shipment for a few days, but it doesn't mean that it will arrive early. I ordered June 16th at 5pm EST...
They are on their way!!!

Just got my shipping notification with my FedEx Tracking number. Showing delivers by July 12th in the email from Apple and FedEx is showing estimated delivery on the 9th on the tracking page.

Ok it was June 19th not July... Although reading a lot of threads around here you would think that is how long the wait has actually been

Seems like they've got all these pesky American ones shipped off and out of the warehouse and are now getting on with the far more important British orders.

My original order went through the same process before Apple canceled it due to a mix up on upgrade eligibility. If I was you I would call Apple and check on your order.
I checked last night about 9:00pm ADT (10pm Pacific), and it was still prepared for shipping. I just checked it (8:20 Pacific), and it's been shipped! So I would guess it was updated sometime really early this morning Pacific time.
ok thanks! thats what ive been seeing with other people too -- guess ill have to wait 1 more day (3 total- which seems long!) for it to ship :'(
So - I called Apple Customer Service - they really couldn't offer much insight on how long it takes to go from "prepared for shipment" and actually departing the warehouse.
She said they ARE getting phones out faster than the expected ship date. Once you get the "prepared for shipment" status change, it means your phone has physically been finished being produced, and has been packaged for delivery.
She said time can vary on how long it will stay in that status - and it's determinant on what shipment it will leave on (based on how you are having it shipped) and when each shipment goes out. Thus if they have a back-up of phones to be shipped, it doesn't always mean it will get on the next flight out of there... So I guess it's not out of the ordinary for us to see a 2 or 3 day gap between prepared and shipped....

good luck mine was supose to be sent july 2nd, and ive been told it might be next week wheni get mine, let alone dispatched july 14th.
My order switched to prepared for shipment when I had checked about 7:00am EST Sat and has been that way ever since. I haven't got anymore emails from Apple but they have charged my card and I received an email from AT&T with a "Customer Service Summary" letting me know I had a new 2yr agreement and $18 upgrade fee.
It's almost 2:30 am in China right now hopefully orders will start shipping in masses in a few more hours.
