I will be using some of my summer break to allow myself to explore some creative venues.

To that end, I would like to experiment with the production of immersive experiences using a personnal trip of mine to figure-out whether the lifestyle suits me.

I'm exploring different setups and workflow and my options have coalesced into the following quesiton.

- r5 c + vr lense or r7 + vr lense

I'm thrilled by the ability to shoot 8k 60 but from what I've heard the lens has some shortcomings.

Thank you guys in advance.

Wow, didn't know "immersive experiences" were a lifestyle now! 😂😂

Wow, didn't know "immersive experiences" were a lifestyle now! 😂😂

Lugging around camera gear and being cognescent of items to capture does change behaviour and behaviour is lifestyle.

🤷‍♂️

But in the meantime and as an invitation for somewhat more insightful answers here are the results of the additionnal research I did.

1. is the r5C combo

2. is the r7 combo

And regardless of the seizable price difference, the following points seem to differentiate both solutions.

- FOV: 1 beats 2, nevertheless the limitations seem to be welcome by filmmakers allowing for more intentionnal framing and reduced visual cluttering.

- Battery: 1 has usb-PD, this seems to be a big deal.

- Ergonomics: 2 hands down, even with cage + grip

- Resolution: I was thinking about using topaz to upscale final exports and sidestep the storage tax of filming those mfers of 8k60 files.

I intend to shoot on tripod mostly, does anyone have input on how to make the audio work.
