I have a folder titled "In Progress" which is where I keep active jobs that are in the works. It has a 179 folders in this In Progress folder. Normally, and in the past I would use the keyboard shortcut (shift + command + n) for a new folder. This works as it should, but in the past it would make the new folder and I could immediately type out the name of the folder. Now it defaults to the Untitled name and does not let me edit unless I go about it the manual way.

This is not system wide, if I go to a folder inside the In Progress folder, or any other folder I can do the same thing and it works as it should where it makes the new folder and I can immediately type the name.

This is on a MacBook Pro M1 Max with 32 gigs of RAM and latest update of Sonoma as of today. Anyone have an idea of what is causing this or how I can fix this?

This happens to me all the time. Sometimes the name is editable, sometimes it is not. It is really annoying, especially as I mostly start to type the new name immediately after making the new folder, and it then it just beeps at me with every key press.
