The Short Pump Apple Store is opening early again tomorrow. Will they have product this time? Who knows.

Yeah I was there at 8 this morning and saw no line and the big no iPads in stock sign. I don't know that I want to burn my lunch break at 8am in the morning again only to find out they have no stock. 🙁

Yeah for real, I hear ya. I probably left just before you got there. I stood there from a little before 7 to a little before 8 with three other guys, then after waiting for nearly an hour an Apple employee brought the sign up and swapped it with the other one and said "hey guys, i don't wanna make you stand there any longer - we don't have any iPads." Bummer.

But I did snag one from a Target in Midlothian using that Target inventory tracker from another thread - the exact model I wanted too. Pretty stoked. I would give that a shot. You might get lucky.

Did you end up going to the Apple Store early? How were things there?

I decided not to go. I guess I thought they'd be getting stock in EVERY day. But I don't know that I want to go stand in line only to find out they're not getting in any stock. Can't say I won't try it again. But I'd want a little more concrete evidence that they're going to have something to sell.

Woke up early and got to the apple store at short pump at 6:30AM on Mar 19th hoping they have it in. They stopped selling about 10 people in front of me 🙁 Apparently, the first person in line was there at 3AM.

I have an ipad 2 on order but my wife realizes she wants one also and want to surprise her for her birthday. I can't do this everyday since I do have a day job and I'd rather not overpay and encourage scalping.

Any sightings or word anywhere else will be greatly appreciated.

I gave up on Apple and succeeded at Target after only a couple tries and only 45 mins waiting. Check the Target thread in the iPad forum and look at the inventory lookup links on page 8. Worked for me in my area (Southern CA).
