I am trying to get the shortcut automation working. I have everything done properly, I get the notification on my home screen saying running your automation, but it does not run.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You're asking for help with a specific app, so you may get more responses in the iOS Apps and Apple Arcade forum, where there's a sticky for Shortcuts. It would also help for troubleshooting if you would include screenshots of your shortcut.

I can screenshot my shortcut. It is an apple shortcut using SIRI. Maybe I am not in the right place. I am new here today. :)

Here is what I did

I created on my phone a similar script. Instead of your "testing testing" I have it speak the current date, and it worked fine. Do you have "Ask before running?" enabled? If you temporarily change the speak step to current date and plug in your phone, does it work?

ask before running is disabled and off.

I am not sure what you mean by " If you temporarily change the speak step to current date and plug in your phone, does it work? "

As a troubleshooting step because it works on my phone, I was asking if you might try it. It's a way to narrow down which step is the problem.

Also what iOS version are you running on your phone and what phone is it?

Iphone 6 plus and IOS 14.0.1

Is the volume turned up?

I just edited my automation from current date to "this is a test", plugged in my phone, and it works.

yep, volume at 100% and voice selected. When I manually make it play, it works fine. It just doesn't do it automatically.

Would it be possible that it doesn't work on an Iphone 6 Plus? all my settings look just like yours.

Have you tried a simpler automation as a test? The Shortcuts app compatibility section only requires iOS 13 or later and doesn't mention specific device limitations.

yep, still no luck. This is very weird why it wont work. I am sure everything is right. Here is the message I get every time saying that its running, but it don't.

Let me think about this for a few minutes. If you haven't already today, I'd reboot your phone.

OK - It worked that time. Now the problem is, I cant hear it, it only plays out of the ear piece and not the speaker.

Ah, great. At least the automation is now working. Does the speaker work for other things? I don't know a lot about troubleshooting speaker issues, but you might want to try Reset All Settings.
