Heres the question, on a mac there are shortcuts/mac commands for everything, like when you want to go between windows use apple+tab. My question is when closing out of a word.doc that u did not save, you get a window asking you if you want to “save/ cancel/ quit”; my question is how do u use a keyboard short cut to tab those options??????

<Command-D> will select "Don't Save"

<esc> will cancel

<return> will select default "OK"

The return Key will choose the default button (the pulsing blue button), the escape key will cancel out.

You can use the tab key to uselessly tab the options, but unless the developer has assigned a keyboard equivalent to a button (word uses CMD D for Don't Save), you can't activate it from the keyboard. Sometimes a dialogue box will have no keyboard equivalent for its buttons.

Apple's interface guidelines discourage making dialogue boxes too easy to select a bad option.
