I took it to an Apple store, after having spoken to AppleCare before I went to get the case logged and everything, so that it'd be simple and quick when I got to the store(!!!!). Only for those mother ******* in the store to tell me I need an appointment to return something for repair that I have already spoken to Apple about!!!! I was not, and am not amused. That coupled with all the other bull****, I'm logging a complaint

Seriously, I want to kill people at Apple right now
Tell us how you really feel. E :D

We're spoiled here; no AppleStore here yet, so not all of the independent Apple dealers have gone bankrupt (yet). We have 4 dealers who do service here, so we have some choice. An independent authorized service center is more likely to give good service, because they are competing for your business, and they can take your side against Apple's red tape. If Apple Canada would meet their commitments to deliver parts on time, it would be peachy.

Ahhh, that isn't nice of Apple. Maybe the guy I got was new and didn't go through apple harassment training yet. I guess I should know this, but what happened in your case?

Apple gives you one year of free AppleCare with any mac or ipod.

Apple does not give you anything for FREE. The cost of the 1 Year Limited Warranty is built into the premium you pay for Apple products. I don't know how many businesses survive by offering "free" anything.

That makes no sense because it is much more likely one will drop or somehow break their Powerbook or iBook while it is unlikely someone will seriously damage their iMac or Mac mini

If you "drop" or "break" your Powerbook or iBook, Apple will not repair it under the extended AppleCare coverage.

However, Powerbooks and iBooks due to their portability have a higher chance of having problems than Apple's desktop lines.

Well flor-i-duh! What I mean is they don't charge you anything upfront when you get it. You know what I mean. Sheesh.
