If Apple worries about Chromium taking too much market share, then they should create a compelling and much more relevant browser than currently Safari is (or ever has been, frankly) and make it cross platform so it's available to anyone regardless of OS. In other words, Apple should *compete* rather than impose chickensh*t moves like requiring all browsers to use their in-house engine.

They should also make access to using Apple Pay in the browser more widely available as well, and not just on Apple's engine. It's convenient, even with other players like Shop and PayPal, but frustrating when you want to check out on a website and your preferred method isn't available because of the stupid protectionist garbage Apple is currently engaging in.
