I'll be honest, I don't know enough to have a good technical opinion of this either way. All I know is that 256 MB of ram starts to seem a little insufficient once you realize things like safari can't cache to the flash storage and the iPad has a significantly more ram-intensive frame buffer than the 3GS. When I'm only running safari, I can switch between multiple tabs without reloading, I can even quit safari, come right back, and not have to reload. But, if i quit safari and run another program that needs the ram, the next time I open safari almost all of the pages have to reload since their cache has been purged. Opinions?
