If Blu ray where to come to the imac would it possible for older imacs owners including the 27 inch imac i purchased to replace the current super drive with the new blu ray drive, or because of design you would be limited and must purchase a new pc.

You can already replace the SuperDrive with BR drive but OS X lacks support for Blu-Ray

I would like that. I don't know if it ever will happen. It depends on how long Blu Ray is able to stick around I guess. After a while Apple won't be able to stay relevant and not include it.

They don't have any SATA ports and all Blu-Ray players are SATA plus there is no chance that G3 could even play Blu-Ray smoothly

What's the point of Mac if you use Windows? Not sure does BRs work under virtualization either so Boot Camp for Blu-Ray doesn't sound very good for me
