Should I Always Shut Down?

Or can I keep my IMAC in sleep mode daily? Is it better just to keep it always powered up except for vacations etc.?

Putting it to sleep is fine.

You can safely leave it in sleep mode for weeks at a time. No need to shut down, unless you want to.

I keep my work iMac in sleep mode 24/7 and it only gets restarted for software updates.

For my iMac at home I usually don't power it off on weekends or when I plan to be spending time over the course of several days.

I power off during severe thunder storms and when I am out of town.
