I opted not to buy the applecare myself. Maybe I'll regret it but in all the years of owning a mac (Yeah I know I'm jinxing myself) I've never needed the 2nd or 3rd years.

I've owned macs since the Mac SE days and on occasion (mostly the laptops) I've purchased applecare.

I have no regrets in letting my warranty expire last night, I didn't want to rush out and spend 350 without fully vetting it. I finally decided its not in my best interest and I'll roll the dice.

I don't always buy extended warranties but on large purchases and things that are relatively hard to service I think it's a no brainer.

Across 6 assorted Macs, I've paid about $1500 for Applecare. I've had over $3500 in repairs done. So I guess I've gotten a good return on what I've spent for AppleCare.

had apple care on my 13inch mbp. during warranty super drive and display was replaced. After the one year in apple care the magsafe was replaced and then my logic board after that the logic board failed again so im getting it replaced from apple. All in all thanks to that apple care the damages to my pocket is way lesser.
