150% worth it. I don't look back on my decision to not get the space gray.

Space Black stainless steel is the best looking watch ever! Until someone thinks you have the apple watch sport because you wear it with the green sports band haha

I went back and forth like you because I didn't see the value in spending almost 3 times as much! But trust me! It is sooooooooooo worth it!

Which one did you end up keeping? I don't think I saw you post about which one you kept. @iConnected

Thanks for the reassurance :)

I kept the Space Black - took me a while to decide, but finally got there

It looks outrageously smart, has a nice weight to it and I feel much happier having the sapphire crystal (which also blends really nicely into the gloss black case).

Your Space Black + green band combo looks great, btw. Might well add an extra band or two myself. I'm thinking that the red (coming soon, hopefully) could also be a good addition.

Heaven forfend that some might not realize quite how much money you spent! That must be terribly painful.

The space gray goes quite nicely with the green sports band, BTW. Or at least I think so. Don't really care what others think of my watch.

Thank you!!! I'm really starting to get used to the green. It is kind of neat, but I to agree with you on that! I will definitely pick up a product red sports band if it ever happens! Fingers crossed. @iConnected

Haha it was a great bit of money. I cry about it every now and then. lol
But then I see how much more I utilize my watch than my phone; it has become more of a convenience factor than anything. The other watch in that pic on the plane belongs to one of my friends however. So I only own one to clarify. @CarlJ

I should add how reassured I feel as a result of having also bought AppleCare+.

Yesterday I was reminded how it's not only your own hand movements that you need to be careful about.

Whilst overseeing the installation of a phone line, I was holding a modem when the telecom engineer reached down to indicate which port he was talking about. He had palmed his screwdriver, the tip of which stopped a hair's breadth short of my wrist - and only about 0.5cm sideways from my watch, which he would otherwise have jabbed

Just curious: About 9months later, do you wish you had bailed after all? Or are you still happy?

How have they been holding up? The link bracelet (if you received it) still look new?

I am seriously planning on getting the space black stainless steel (they are down enough in price...perhaps for the potential AW2?), but I would only get it if I got the link bracelet as well. I'm just afraid that 1. it will get scratches within a few short months and 2. it would bother me enough that I would have buyer's remorse.

Still not regretting your purchase? Would you recommend the SBSS to others honestly?

Still loving my SB. The link strap has collected a couple of very faint scratches, which bothered me for a week or so then it got over it. :)

But I recently bought the SB Milanese Loop and I think that is even better than the link. It's lighter, snug yet comfortable and that means you get better transmission of Taptic alerts than with the link. It would be my first choice as a strap, now.

Awesome, that's good to know. There's some good deals here and there for the SBSS which makes it worth the buy even if there's a refresh in July or September but I was going to wait to see if there would be any AW2 announcements at WWDC before paying retail for the Link band (though I'm hoping AW2 is compatible with all the straps/bands from AW1, but that's a whole different thread). I might go with the milanese loop, thanks!

Not being able the quickly change the size of the link bracelet is my only complaint, glad I moved to the leather loop.

That's a good point. I would likely do a 3rd party leather loop, but I feel not very many 3rd party link bracelets hold up to the wear and tear that Apple's does. Granted, it's quite pricey but it also doesn't look cheap or peel/scratch easily.
