Should I be concerned with using a non safari browser?

I friend told me about a browser call "Brave". So I downloaded it and gave it a run. It's much quicker than safari and chrome. But now I'm worried that this off brand browser may give me security issues in the future. Am I safe?

Any browser downloaded from App Store works fine,fact is that I use three or four different ones for different tasks.
