iPod touch Should I bring it to the Apple Store?

I had my iPod touch since July and I'm loving it. There are a few problems though...

1) There are like 3 dead pixels and it's quite noticeable when the screen is black.

2) Sometimes, the screen will start flickering or flashing.

What's wrong with it? Should I bring it in? What do you think they will do with it?

If you can easily get it to an Apple store, take it to them. The worst thing that will happen is that they will tell you they can't fix it under warranty (or at all). Again, if you can get to the Apple Store with no major problems or inconveniences there's no reason to sit at home wondering.

Good luck!

I agree-- bring it in. People at Apple seem to be reasonably obliging. A couple of bad pixels doesn't sound like something that you did by misusing your iPT, so maybe they'll replace or fix it for you. Even if they do nothing, you are no worse off than you are now.

When I first got it... there were a few dead pixels already so I didn't do it, but it's just the flickering screen that bothers me sometimes.

I'm not sure whether they will take it or not. It doesn't happen like all the time, but it does happen quite often.

The only way you'll find out if they'll do anything is to take it into a store and ask. We don't know what they'll do.

Just got back from the Apple Store. They replaced it and when I inspected it... there were no dead pixels. When I came home to restore it back to the 2.0 software... i found 2 dead pixels! I think I'm going to have it replaced again before my warranty ends which is the 11th of July.

I am taking it back in on Wednesday. What do you think they'll do if the next one I get still has the same problems. This is my first replacement and I just experienced the flickering screen once and they're actually 5 dead pixels!

Please, this forum isn't filled with people that work as Geniuses at Apple Stores. We don't know. We can't answer that for you. The only way you'll find out is going in and asking.

I was just asking. I wasn't expecting an answer, but I was also taking some guesses. I never asked for an exact answer.
