Guys my friend bought a macbook pro and got the ipod touch for free a 8gb he will sell it to me for 140 it is brand new. Is this a good deal and are the 2nd gens worth owning. I have never owned one before
If you're in the market for one, it's a good deal. If you don't really need it, then it may not be worth it, obviously. (I believe you could even resell it on eBay for $170+, if you wanted to take the time...)
...that's not a bad price and if you like it/decide to get a larger size you can sell it on and shouldn't lose any $$
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16) I have a first gen an I'm very satisfied. I would imagine the second gen is even better. and for the price, you can't go wrong.
Most of my apps are in the 1-5 MB range. There are some like Myst that can get to be over 700 MB though, but that would be a rare exception.
16gb should be pleaty for space for music and almost any apps you would want. Or people with who don't insist on carrying there entire 40g music collection and are already starting out short handed. In short you should be just fine.
I have a 1st gen 16GB model and its not large enough but I refuse to get a 32GB as that still wouldn't be large enough and that size was released a full year earlier than predicted... With the impending 3rd gen coming, I would buy the cheapest one and wait to see what new features the 3rd gen's have on them... or just wait totally on the 3rd gen... and if you don't like the added features then the 2nd gen's pricing will be lower also...
