I think OP bought the ram and ssd during a sale, that's why he bought it before the book. OP, the Cmbp is what you want. You can still make use of its primary hard drive by taking out the optical drive and putting the hdd in there. The adaptors for that can be bought for ~20 bucks on amazon/ebay. Your mbp will not go obsolete any time soon. Expect it to be upgradeable for the next two OSes. Even after it's not upgradeable to the latest OS, it will still function, and function fast. Most apps support the previous 2 OS's too.

I completely agree. People don't understand the actual math behind the scenes.

Having done the upgrades myself on my 2012 cmbp I agree about the maths but it all depends on your needs and preferences. What does it for you might not do it for someone else, without either of you being wrong.

Thanks for all the help guys. I decided to agree with the majority with you, I am just eating in to all the hype. Both the cMBP and the rMBP are going to be so much better and faster than my current 2007 core 2 duo that I won't even care. Plus, I do like having an optical drive and I like the anti-glare option. I will probably be ordering one in the near future.

As for the questions about my SSD and stuff, yeah I found a special good price on Amazon.com and I have Prime so it was just too easy. I got the Crucial 16GB for 90$, a 250GB Samsung 840 for 170$, and I bought a thunderbolt to hdmi cable and a Sata III hard drive enclosure. I figure I will use the 500GB drive that comes with the computer as a separate drive for my movies. That way the internal 250GB won't be so bad. I am excited thanks for the help.

No 15 cMBP is fat, and ugly. An eyesore especially compared to rMBP.

Wow, no and no to those two things you said about the CMBP. The real eyesore would be an expensive notebook with the only thing really expensive is the screen! The classic has everything and you can always add more of what you want on it. No external adapters or hard drives can make up for internal hardware.

Since you already bought these stuff, cMBP is the machine you want to get I guess. Go for it.

I received my 15" cMBP 2 days ago, and I love it. It's a beauty and I don't regret waiting at all. It's a powerful machine, and it's very fast. Also, since you have the 16GB RAM & the SSD, your machine will be as fast as lightning :D
