You bring up a valid point, I do have a LCD HDTV that I could use for this purpose.

I think I will spend the extra money and buy the MacBook. When would the best time to buy it be? As far as I know there is a update coming soon...

honestly this is exactly what i'm doing. I plan on purchasing my macbook in the middle of August and use my student discount and get the 2.4 white macbook and i will get the Ipod touch due to the promo. Since i have no need for the touch i'll sell it and use the money for apple care and upgrade the memory to 4gig from 2. but honestly right now is the best time to buy. because one the best version of the macbook is out and it's bug free, you can use your student discount, AND the back to school promo is going on until september 16th! Sounds like you can't go wrong with this one!!!

I honestly can't wait until August-September for a rumored update. I am going to buy one this month. It's just killing me. I have an old Ibook that I bought for $250 off a friend a few years ago.

But it sucks, the battery is crap, and the sytem OS is still Panther. I am sorry everyone but I can't wait any longer.

If there is another update then I will just buy another Macbook and sell off this one. That's only if it has the aluminum casing, LED screen.

And if LED happens in early 2009, I will update then. For now I am taking the plunge. I played with them today at the Apple store and it drove me over the edge.

I am sure I will not regret it. The current 2.4ghz model is fast. I was never worried about the specs anyway.

I've been thinking really hard about this lately, and I think I'm just going to go with the current MacBook (2.4 GHz). I don't want to deal with Rev.A problems and I really like how the MacBook is built right now (I prefer plastic over aluminum for sturdiness). I think I'll wait until July 15th and if I don't hear anything from Apple concerning the update, I'm going to make a trip to the Apple Store in Toronto! I can't wait.

thats my plan. July 16th ill be hitting an apple store if i dont hear any reliable news. plus i always have the 14 days.

Another thing that I'm considering is the fact that the version of the MacBook is solid and most reliable of all. However, the new version will obviously have some bugs and fixes that it will need sooner or later...

No rush I guess. I will look at all my options and act accordingly, if I can wait for an update then I probably will.

I am taking Shackler's advice and waiting until July 16th. I am in summer school so I am feeling the pressure of a notebook right now.

I am personally not worried about the new Macbook having bugs. I would like the LED screen. LED = less drain on the battery.

With all this talk about the new Macbook, I almost forgot about the new iPhone 3G.
