I’m currently using Apple wireless keyboard 2 and Magic Mouse 2 with the iPad Pro 11 when I want to use it more like a laptop. I put the iPad in an adjustable stand and it’s great.

iPad can be adjusted in height and distance, so it doesn’t feel cramped, like I worry it might feel with either the Magic Keyboard or Logitech Combo Touch.

I can buy the Logitech for 148€ and the MK for 299€.

Do you guys think I should pull the trigger on one of those? Only difference is the trackpad, but I also like the keyboard shortcuts for pulling down the notifications panel, multitasking, screenshots, pulling up the dock, etc. They’re very useful.

Still, maybe having one of those accessories would be better?

You might think the only difference is a trackpad but there’s a lot more to consider including build quality, connectivity, gestures, etc. Logitech is a decent alternative to those that are price conscious or plan to use it sparingly but if you throw price out of the window I’ve never heard anyone preferring Logitech accessories over Apple’s when it comes to iPads.

I’ve had both and prefer the Logitech. I like how the keyboard is magnetically detachable so I can walk around the house with just the iPad. However, when the keyboard isn’t attached the iPad is still protected In a very sturdy case. Also, I love the kickstand which I always use on my lap when watching TV.

Yup. That's why I went with the Logi as well. It's on Amazon for $140 right now and mine is arriving in a couple days! The Air arrived today so I'm excited to use it.

@Sensamic I have had my Logi Combo Touch for 7 months now and still love it. It is standing up well to a lot of use. Has fully protected my iPad Pro from two drops now without a mark or malfunction on the LCT. Like the Magic Keyboard, the LCT has the smart connector so you do not have to worry about charging it, or having to depend on a Bluetooth connection. It easily detaches from the keyboard while still giving it protection and a fully adjustable kickstand. The typing experience is A#1, and the bigger multitouch trackpad has all the gestures we Apple folk are used too. It is smooth, and clicks anywhere on the trackpad. I have not experienced any hiccups with the trackpad or keyboard. I cannot understand why Apple would put such a small trackpad on the MKB, and no shortcut keys either. For the higher price, you would expect a superior product and user experience. But just the opposite is true. In this case, you definitely get less and pay more. Don't get me wrong. I love Apple and the hardware products they make but you can find just as good if not better accessories for less elsewhere. IMO, the LCT is a better product for less $$ than the MKB.

Things I would miss if I had to give up the LCT.

1. Protection on the edges.
2. Being able to remove the backlit keyboard and still have iPad fully protected in a case with an adjustable kickstand.
3. The larger, multi touch click anywhere track pad. It's frigging amazing.
4. The material the MKB is made of smudges and marks up easily. The LCT material is tough and does not.
5. And probably my favorite, the really convenient full row of iPadOS shortcut keys.

I would not hesitate recommending the LCT to anyone looking for a great keyboard case for their iPad. I have not had anything but a good experience with it and many other Logitech products.

I like the combo touch just due to the ability to detach from keyboard as needed.

Trackpad on the magic keyboard is slightly more responsive though

I am using Apple Magic Trackpad and Apple keyboard almost just like you do. The only reason I sometimes consider buying LCT or MK is that I have to turn off Bluetooth keyboard each time I am not using it, otherwise iPad doesn’t show on-screen keyboard if Bluetooth keyboard is turned on and in the same room. But Magic Trackpad with keyboard are actually lighter than MK (if you are going to take it with you for a trip)

MK main advantage seems to the track pad. However I won’t be playing first person shooter games and overall the LCT has a greater number of advantages………at 50% of the price. The decision would have been easier if the touchpad completely sucked but it doesn’t. It‘s good!

meanwhile the MK is almost the price of a base iPad!

UPDATE: I've had the Logi Combo for almost a week now. Heavier than I expected but I also have never had an iPad keyboard before but I really love that it's detachable when I'm just watching media on it. Trackpad is nice though I keep accidentally zooming so trying to figure out how to stop that.

Otherwise, thumbs up!

If you want good protection, flexibility or a keyboard/touchpad then cases tend to be heavy. Not an issue if you mainly use the iPad at home. If you travel a lot you can always get a second case that lighter and switch between the two when desired.

I have MK and Apple wireless keyboard. To be honest, I don’t see much difference (even it looks like wireless keyboard is better because it has complete function keys and wider), EXCEPT if you need to work on the road and in limited space. I don’t use any pointing device (I have Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad) when attach with wireless keyboard because it’s easier to touch the screen directly. I also rarely use the trackpad on MK with the same reason.
