I would take the Air but the screen resolution is really low.

If there only was 11" rMBP...

Then just get the 13" rMBP with an ipad mini.

It just sounds like you're trying to justify to a bunch of strangers that you need to get a laptop and an ipad.

I dont know about you, but the non retina display on the 11" air is more than fine for browsing the web or watching movies casually on the couch or bed.

At the end of the day it is your $ and you can do whatever you want with it!

In my honest opinion you are falling victim to marketing and strategy of apple

You can use mac air for media consumption very fine and ipad is no necessity its a luxury ....
Value things and think how much u need them . I bought an ipad mini coz i wanted to experience iOS.
But i m getting the macbook air and my ipad will be sold soon .

Iphone and macbook are more needed items , if u have lot of money buy all ...
Get apple tv tooo them use airplay to stream stuff wirelessly
Then get time capsule toooo and all the stuff they sell

Get stuff acc to need only rather than falling victim to marketing
Retina is overhyped and yes its beautiful ... But not needed at all .
All people bashing airs text considering they used 1280*800 prior to retina without complains .
Text is fine on a 13 inch 1440*900 display . Just zoom a bit

Thank you guys for your input.

I will wait for the Haswell rMBP 13" or 11" (if it gets released this year). I will also wait for the Retina iPad mini (I see no need for the full-sized iPad).

As for the Air, everything is nice about it, but I just want all my devices to be at least Full HD.

Thanks again.

I keep buying laptops but just end up returning them when i realise that i prefer the ipad or ipad mini. The 2013 air was good and i would have kept it if it had more ports (hdmi and two thunderbolts like the rmbp)
