Should I buy Apple TV?

Thats a pretty broad question. What type of set up do you have? What are you wanting to use it for?

I currently have a Mac, iPad Mini and iPhone...

I would use it for streaming games from my iPad to TV...

Not sure what else APPLE TV does.

So tonight i went for a combo of iflicks and xbmc which is working perfectly as of right now 🙂 try this out before you go for apple tv.

Take a look, it basically links to your movies folder and displays them nicely on a home theater style page.
