I had the same question on the Apple support forum and heard back that because I was beyond 2 months from the date of purchase, it can’t be done! Hope to heck nothing happens to it as no way will I spend another $800 if something catastrophic happens to this within 2 years. That speaks to not buying such an expensive one in the first place if they aren’t durable!

Geez, you would think they would offer to inspect it and take your money. I purchased AppleCare+ a couple of days after taking delivery. For me, it seemed equal to the cost of a nice watchband.

Yep...you would. It’s not like I’m expecting them to start the two years from this point, only from my purchase date. Had I read the problems others have had I would have taken it for sure. Live and learn...in the meantime, be very very careful! LOL

I bought Applecare. I'd rather buy it and be safe, than buy an ugly watch case and protector. I'd hate to have it fall and crack, because it's not exactly a G-Shock.

I'd say if you buy a base model, you could go without. But it also depends on your work or how clumsy/reckless you are.

I have bought it for 6 watches now. Never used it once but I would buy it again. Thankfully I have not used car insurance either but if I ever need to, it will be worth it.

I just got my series 6 graphite and (again) am considering AC+. I usually get it but have never used it. I just think that for £89 here in the UK for 2 years is not bad just to provide you with peace of mind.

Car insurance (at least the liability policy) is a legal requirement to be on the road so not really comparable. One school of thought is that if replacing something would not cause financial hardship then no need to spend funds on insurance. But each to his own.
