MacBook pro 2014 or MacBook pro 2013?As the newer model of MacBook pro is released last week. I was planning to purchase the newest version.

I did lot of research and found out the newest version is 200mhz faster that the 2013 version..

I saw some benchmark results and found out that yes the newest version is faster that is the older one. But ssd benchmark says that 128gb ssd has 700mb read and 350mb write and the 256gb ssd has 700mb read and 700mb write.

So I have two choice mbp 2014, i5 2.6, 8gb and 128gb or the mbp 2014, i5 2.5, 8gb and 256gb 2014 model has better processor and slow ssd. 2013 model has slow processor and fast ssd Overall the performance is going to be the same right?

Now what should I buy?

Price factor in India both has exactly the same price

If they're both the same price, get the 2014 model. In the real world, you probably won't notice the difference.

In real world if both perform the same... I can get a extra 128gb with same price if I go for 2013 model...

Can you please say why shouldn't I choose late 2013 model?

There isn't any noticeable difference between the two models. If you can get extra memory for the same price by going for 2013, then definitely go for the 2013 model

I am losing my mind over this decision..

1. Trying to decide between a 13"/15"

2. The 2014 13" 256gb new with college discount is $1399 and $100 gift card($1299)

3. The late 2013 15" 256gb refurb is $1529

4. The late 2013 13" 256 is $1189

5. The other option is just get an macbook air for around $900 and then upgrade my ipad 3 to a ipad air...so we are talking about $1400-$1500 for that option.

6. :(

get the 4th option unless you run cpu intensive programms that would really profit from 0.2ghz more.
There is not many people whomrun such programms!

Wow - thread #639 in the past week asking the same thing.

Bottom line - the machines are so close to the same, that... well... same thing has already been same over and over.
