Sorry Mods for the inappropriate location, but no one cares my original post in iOS App Section:(, I thought I could bring it here, because people in here is more interest in note-taking field than others. ;)

Hello, :)

Recently I've bought an iPad pro for schoolwork, however, I get stuck with deciding note-taking apps. :p

OneNote is a great app, multi-platform, cloud services, free, syncing with my school email... but the way it works is very strange, very odd, for instance: can't import separate pdf page or import whole pdf as a printout, or can't import powerpoint,...

Notability, on the other hand, I've been using the "illegal-version" for a while, It's simple, fast, import powerpoint, pdf files,... but you can't create any page in the pdf you imported(-which I use regularity, since the space to write on in a text-book pdf is limited) and thanks to the capitalism, It's very expensive, furthermore Mac's app is more expensive.

Fell like I want to buy Notability, but get disconcerted by the price(in my place, you can live richly for a whole week by 10$). Should I live with OneNote disadvantage over Notability with the price gap?

First if I want to purchase Apps and save some money, I will buy an Apps card when they go on sale with the money I get from my birthday. This will help bring the cost down. Or check when the Apps go on sale ??

It sounds like you are trying to do all in one app. Maybe there is a PDF app like Adobe that could help fill that void. I've been looking around youtube to decide which Apps will fit my needs. Some people don't realize that Apple's Notes app allows you to import PDF files. I usually import PDF files there just in case I don't have cellular access.

There are a lot of threads for this. If I had to chose, I would go with Notability.

Thank you, a lot!

I've checked in my place, there aren't anywhere to buy iTunes gift card nor on eBay too. :( also as the price chart shown it doesn't seem to be discounted, however, I've made my mind, I'll buy it next week!

You can import a printout of a pdf into OneNote. There’s a button right at the top for it. While I don’t believe that you can import a PowerPoint file into OneNote, you can export a PP from the iOS app into OneNote. I expect a more direct import function will appear in the future. MS has been adding features to OneNote iOS to get closer to feature parity.

NotesPlus over Notability.

OneNote is in another category completely. I use both NotesPlus and OneNote. The former I use for taking notes in meetings. The latter I use for collaboration.

Keep in mind, OneNote is subscription-based which would be a no-no in my opinion.

OneNote, at least in the US, is free. This includes both the iOS and desktop apps. The only requirement is that you have a Microsoft account to sync via OneDrive and perform handwriting to text processing on the iPad. You can set up an MS account for free.

Additionally, if you're using it for uni, there's a good chance your school gives you a subscription.

I've had notability and many other pdf/notetaking apps for years, I always wanted to like OneNote more than I do, but almost exclusively use notability. I would highly recommend it, works great on my iPad pro, has iCloud and dropbox integrations that work flawlessly. There may be other, newer and/or better apps but I haven't used anything else in several years now.

I use GoodNotes so recommend it. It costs $7.99 (compared to $9.99 for Notability). GoodNotes lets you add extra pages to a PDF that you’ve imported. It will allow you to import PowerPoint files that has been converted to PDF format (this is the same way that Notability lets you import PowerPoint files). GoodNotes integrates with Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, and Box services.

Indeed, and I use all those functions every day
