Apple wants everyone to upgrade every year, but people need a more compelling reason to do that. Apple not only competes against Android, but they also compete against Apple... and Apple is a hard act for them to follow.
To be honest, the primary reason why a lot of people in the US upgrade their phones often is because of 2 year contracts. If not for that, I reckon iPhone sales will be similarly flat. I'm curious to see the effect the Next/Edge programs and BYOD/no-contract plan discounts will have on smartphone sales.Apple really doesn't have a choice here. Tablets are not doing well and Apple was behind the ball on specs and prices last year. Android tablets are nipping at Apple's heel's and they have to come up with something pretty big this time if they don't want flat sales.
Hi, so, I'm currently waiting for college to start in about a month now. This will be my freshmen year and I'll be buying an iPad for it, mainly for ebooks, web browsing, and some games (Pheonix Wright and TWEWY are two that come to mind)
I guess my question is, how much of a performance boost is anticipated on the iPad Air 2? Will it be noticeable? I have an iPhone 5s, and the Touch ID is basically no use to me. I can wait and use physical books for my first semester classes then an iPad later, but will it really be worth the wait? I'm kind of anticipating the purchase, I had one before but I sold it due to money reasons.
Any thoughts on this?
