Most of the time I will be using it for web browsing / youtube / 4k video editings.

I seen articles saying it takes another 4-5 months to release the iPad Pro, but the upgrade should be quite significant. Less top and bottom bezels and faster processors.
I am also leaning towards the size of 9.7 inch display and will probably never buy the 12.9 inch model.

I am wondering if I should wait for the new iPad Pro, that is about double the price of iPad 2018. What you think?

Worth is a subjective thing really. If you’re into 4K video editing then my advice will be to get the Pro.

Technically based on your thread title, we don’t know that there will be a ‘2018 iPad Pro’, it very well could be 2019. The question is, is it worth the wait to you if you want something now or not having a guarantee if a new iPad Pro to launch in 2018. My advice is, if you want something now that meets your needs and expectations, take advantage of it.

Currently own an iPad Mini 2, I haven't used it for a year or two and now it's so slow I am quite disappointed.
I am considering buying the iPad and use it until the iPad Pro 3 launch. I am also wondering how they (iPad and iPad Pro) compare because I am a newbie when it comes to iPad technology.

Ipad pro got better display tech (laminated, 120hz), better audio (quad speak stereo, if i remember it correctly), more ram/better cpu... thats it...

I, personally, would wait for the Pro but believe that it won't necessarily be 2018, could be early next year.

But I'd like a play around with a 2018 iPad, just to see what it's like. I don't use my iPad Pro nearly enough to take advantage of its capabilities. I do appreciate the screen, though, laminated, refresh rate etc. and the 4 speaker set-up. Makes Netflix or YouTube a treat to use.

The 2018 iPad is inexpensive enough that it would be good to use as a "temporary" iPad. If you end up upgrading to an iPad Pro, you probably lose maybe $50-150 resale if you stick to the 32GB Wi-Fi model.

Obviously, Pro models will be nicer but the basic 9.7 iPad 6th gen ain't no slouch.
