Should I upgrade from the iPhone 6 to an iPhone 6s Plus? I was just wondering if it's a good idea or not.

It all depends on your budget and your needs. I made the switch and I love it. 3D Touch is great, the camera is better and Touch ID is much improved. Some will tell you it's not worth it and that may be the case for many people. If you have the money, go for it.

I bought the sim free 6s Plus a couple weeks ago coming from the 6 (launch day), but the primary impetus was to jump to a Plus. I'll tell you right now, aside from screen size difference, the 6s seems a lot faster (I play a few games daily) and the Touch ID is definitely way better (dead on accurate and fast). 4K video? Awesome. Force Touch? Meh. I'll get more excited about it when it's heavily integrated with apps.

So if you're simply upgrading from 6 to 6s, I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you feel like burning cash.

The one other contributing factor to my decision to get the 6s Plus was that I could give my dad my 6, and get him off his 5 (and I kept his 5 for a glorified iPod Touch).

Wait!

Patience will pay off, saving money on a device that may not only be obsolete looking but soft on resale.

iPhone 7 rumors strongly hint at the most innovative stylish iPhone yet.

I know I'm happy to wait.

I think if you have the money go ahead and get it. I upgraded from a 6 plus to a 6s plus and I'm very happy with my upgrade.

I will echo this one.

Lol. Every year we hear this when the s model releases.

Depends on you !! Well, I have seen many issues regarding iPhone 6S Plus, however if you like the design & features then surely you can give it a try :) I too thought of buying one from Flipkart Mobile store, but not interested anymore !!! Why don't you use the same and wait for iPhone 7? ;)

Listen, this iPhone update is the best yet BY FAR!!! The iPhone 6s(+) is what the iPhone 6(+) should have been. This "S" update could
Have easily been a number update. EASILY!!

I came from a launch day 6 to a launch day 6s Plus. My fiancée went from a launch day 6 to a launch day rose gold 6s... Both very happy ... Worth an upgrade from any iPhone including the 6(+).

Its a good move to make (6 to 6s+) if you want the size increase. The list of improvements over the 6 is very long. This release convinced me to get on the S cycle. This is a really solid performing device. Whatever the 7 brings, the 7s will be all that AND a bag of chips.

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely consider buying the new iPhone.

Depends on your needs in a phone, cash on hand, etc. I have a bit of a different view from some of the others. If you are talking 6 to 6S Plus, I would back that since the change in size alone would be quite a difference.

From the 6 to the 6S? I couldn't recommend that to anyone without a guilty conscience unless they upfront suggest they have money to burn or are annual upgraders. The 6S is fast, but so was the 6. The 6S camera is nice, but given they upped it to 12mp without focusing on the sensors and aperture....I don't see much if any photo improvement. I find 3D Touch and Live Photos to be gimmicks. Visually....unless you get rose gold they are identical aside from a little heft due to reinforcing the frame. Still mediocre battery. Still no OIS. Still 326 ppi.

As always, this is merely my opinion and nothing more. But for me, the 6S seemed to be Apple's least effort yet. I cannot put into words how unimpressed I was with iOS 9, and then to combine that with essentially an iPhone 6.1? I just am not sure what the powers at be were doing the past year.
