I am planing to buy my first retina MBP soon in dGPU model to replace my old notebook.

my main purpose is using Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut pro
and sometimes play Dota2.

I have never used any Mac before. Is the new 15" MBP suit me?

I don't serious about haswell or skylake CPU
but I concern about the AMD GPU R9 m370x that I found many people here discuss about heat , efficiency , driver problems or the life of this GPU.

I also afraid about overheat problem when I am playing games or processing picture because I need to use this MBP atleast 4-5 years same as my current notebook (about 5 years).

Should I buy this new model?

p.s. sorry for my bad grammar

Yes it will be perfect for the photo and video tasks you listed.

Dota2 runs quite well on a Iris Pro 5200.
So you might consider the 15" MBP IG version which is cheaper than the DG version.

With the exception of playing Dota2, we do pretty much the same work with our macs. You may want to consider the iGpu version as its quite a bit cheaper than the dGPU one and I haven't had any major regrets after getting it

What overheating problem, exactly?

It'll get warm, sure. The chassis will feel hot as it is made of aluminum which transfers heat very well. But it won't overheat.

If it overheated, it'd shut down in your face without any warning to protect itself.

Thank you very much.

I am interesting in the price of igpu model also. but I like more disk space and cpu speed that is offered from dgpu model because I usually work outside home.

in overheating problem, I just heard from many people in my country discussed about AMD graphic cards. They said that the AMDs consumed so much battery life and very hot when it was full loaded, unlike Nvidia GPUs.
But I don' know it was true or not.

In addition, What about battery life in dgpu model? Are they noticeably shorter than igpu model?

You can spec it up.

For photo/video/audio work it will be fantastic. As long as you have realistic expectations, it will run modern games fine. I'm also not a fan of AMD, but there is no reason to worry about heat or any GPU issues. If anything goes wrong Apple will cover it.
