Ok thanks to all of you guys you replied. Including the flame guys. Actually like some of you said this is a forum for passionated people. We all know I will not use this computer for serious and productive work.

I decided to not buy this computer at the end...

I can agree with that, it can't do anything your Intel Mac can do. I got mine for 50 bucks...which people on here tell me is an INSANE deal. And it's gotten me into the Mac world.

But, your intel Mac can do everthing that G5 can do and then some. If you ever happen to run across a better and cheaper G5, go for it. its a super cool computer.

See maybe doom 3 just kills that fx 5200.... well I know it kills it. Thats the wind tunnel you hear I bet.

It shouldn't affect processor load. I had a FX5200 back in high school in my Athlon 64 ( later upgraded it jr year to a 6600, best 180 bucks ever lol ), and it never got CLOSE to this hot lol, and yeah I played Doom III on it,

As far as heat goes, the FX5200 has a tiny little passive heat sink, it can't get very hot. Even under full load.

Then again, the FX5200 is a pile of CRAP. And I plan to replace it. When I built the Athlon 64, it had 4 gigs of ram, big ole hard drive, 600watt psu ect ect, very good PC for its time. And I cheaped out and bought a FX5200 for it, my dad had a 2.8gzh Pentium 4 Dell Tower with a Geforce MX4 in it. And that Geforce MX4 kicked that FX5200 around over and over again as far as performance goes.

Well, I can understand why you decided against buying an older machine...it is inconvenient sometimes to not be able to use newer programs or accessories, but then again, I don't do a lot of intensive work with mine.

But, that would have been a good deal-but you can get a better one on eBay if you ever decide that you do want a classic architecture machine.

Agree with that, he should look into it when prices come down. And they will, super cool computer to have.

If you have no fan on your graphics card and you game and it causes your fans to go ape sh@t, then I would guess that your cpu is getting some work.

Remember guys the OP is in Europe..

The cheapest g5 on ebay right now is 133 euro for a 1.6..

Stuff here costs more.

Well, the FX 5200 is a low end card, even by the standards of the day. It's a real hunk of crap. It also doesn't produce a ton of heat, and won't make the processor work any harder, nor will it heat them up, as in a G5, the area where the video card is, and the processor area is cooled seperately

So then if that indeed is the case why do you think your fans are ramping up? My guess is that puny little fx 5200 is the culprit.

What I'm saying is, a crappy video card won't put any extra strain on the processors. Hell, even at full load, the FX5200 is only slightly warm to the touch.

I think the fans ramping up have alot to do with how much heat the G5's put out.

Even on a pc your cpu can be the bottle neck in performance when talking about high end graphics cards. I'd love to see a cpu meter while running Doom 3 with a 5200 fx. I'd love to see how much processing power is being used.
