and when i go to the app store to download an app it asks me to create an account

so should i create an account on a jailbroken iphone and should i download cedyia

It's Cydia. If you don't have Cydia, why be jailbroken? So, yeah, you need to get Cydia.

There's no problem using the App Store on a jailbroken phone. So, create an account or use an existing account and sign in.

Cydia is to download apps that lets you customize your phone and give various abilities like multitasking.

It's safe to have an iTunes account on a jailbroken iPhone.

You need to search for "manually install Cydia." It's CYDIA, okay?? I don't have a link.

However, I'm wondering why you don't have Cydia on in the first place. What did you use to jailbreak? redsn0w will automatically install Cydia for you.

As far as what you were told by the poster above about Cydia, if you don't have Cydia (the preferred installer) or Icy or Rock (they suck), then you can't get any of the thousands of jailnroken apps, which is the whole reason for jailbreaking. You should look at the guides on jailbreaking in these forums.

Also, be patient. Jeez, we don't get paid to answer your questions!

Yes, you are jailbroken if you're in the U.S. and on T-Mobile.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have Cydia? Do you know how to use spotlight? Search for Cydia.

If you don't have it, I'd tell the friend to jailbreak you the right way and install Cydia when it asks.

Slide the home screen to the right.

Then type "Cydia" without the quotation marks (") when the keyboard pops up...

You really need to go back to the friend and have him help you. It would be a lot easier for you, since you'll have someone there to walk you through this.

However, what you need to do is rejailbreak this iPhone with redsn0w. This time make sure you get Cydia.

Edit: I forgot. You never said if Cydia is on the phone. I think it is, but you know so little about using a phone, you can't find it.
