Should I display images in HTML email messages?

I currently have an iMac with Mail, an iPad, and an iCloud web mail account.

All three of them have the option to prevent images in HTML emails from downloading unless you click "Load images". The iPad does not have a load images button, it just either does or doesn't display images.

But anyway, do you think I should check or uncheck this option?

It feels great to open a message and have the image load automatically, but I'm thinking this may be a problem security-wise?

In that case, why not just display them?

Based on your statement, I will just allow images to be displayed. It's sort of a nuisance to have to click "load images".
