Yeah, he'll really get a lot of use out of those extra 4fps in Doom (according to Apple's site)! Woo! Totally worth the extra cost. Here are some better benchmarks:

Yeah so he can get like 150 fps!

Too bad like all monitors refresh at 60 or 75 fps, so that other 75 or 90fps is just useless

So he's obviously not a heavy PC gamer then? 3Ghz, 4GB RAM, X1900XT and a couple of Raptors in RAID 0 and 2 750GB drives in RAID 1 would be more than adequate I would imagine.

Even the 3Ghz is overkill and overpriced. If he wants to keep it 20 years, getting the 2.66 model and upgrading to dual quad cores in 5-6 years would be a smarter move.

He has more money than sense. That's for sure.

You also don't need to be wealthy to drop thousands of dollars on a product though.

I hope you arent implying credit... that would be even more foolish.

I find myself unable to believe that this is a legitimate thread.

16GB RAM? For gaming and home video production? Please. Anyone who could throw away that much cash would buy two or more 30" monitors and forget the 23" ones.

I call flamebait.

Thread will be closed shortly unless anyone can at least begin to convince me it might be legitimate.

He already said in another thread he "stopped" his friend from doing it, so I'm sure this conversation is done...
